Sit and Go Poker Strategy and Concepts
Sit & Gos, Sit 'n Goes, SnGs, whatever you call them, are very profitable form of poker. In a very simple definition, these are tournaments where everyone pays a buy-in, starts with the same amount of chips, and plays down until 1 person remains with all the chips in his stack. This person is the winner and takes a big chunk of the prize pool.
But there is much more to Sit And Go's than that!
A smart SnG player will play most of his tournaments like this - fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, all-in! Once you reach the point where your stack size is around 10 big-blinds or less, pretty much your only move is all-in. One of the reasons people prefer sit and go's is because they are easy to learn and even easier to multi-table. Most regular grinders you find at all levels would be losers with 100 bb or deeper stacks, like in ring games. But by having such short stacks makes poker a much easier game to play with a lot less decisions. It seems to be all about volume these days, if your ROI is small, just play 20 tables at once and it will make up for it.
